課程概述

The course is a two-semester sequence covering the major works of non-Anglo-Saxon European literature. The first semester covers the Renaissance and the Enlightenment, notably selections from the works of Petrarch, Rabelais, Montaigne, Cervantes, Racine, and Voltaire.

課程目標
The course aims to familiarize students both with the general history of European literature in its major world-historical phase, and with specific authors of great influence and ingenuity. It will also extend students’ reading, writing, and discussion skills in English
課程要求
Regular attendance and preparation for class are mandatory. More than three absences (without leave) will result in a loss of letter grade (10 points) for the course. Likewise, regular tardiness will lead to a points deduction in overall grade.
