課程概述 |
The course is a two-semester sequence covering the major works of non-Anglo-Saxon European literature. The first semester covers the Renaissance and the Enlightenment, notably selections from the works of Petrarch, Rabelais, Montaigne, Cervantes, Racine, and Voltaire. |
課程目標 |
The course aims to familiarize students both with the general history of European literature in its major world-historical phase, and with specific authors of great influence and ingenuity. It will also extend students’ reading, writing, and discussion skills in English |
課程要求 |
Regular attendance and preparation for class are mandatory. More than three absences (without leave) will result in a loss of letter grade (10 points) for the course. Likewise, regular tardiness will lead to a points deduction in overall grade. |
